 Types of computer:  

                                                                Since the advent of the first computer different types and size of computers are offering different services. Computer can be as big as occupying a large building and as small as a laptop or a microcontroller in mobile & embedded systems. The five basic types of computers are given below:    

1. Personal Computer

2. Work Station   

3. Mini Computer

4. Main Frame Computer

5. Super Computer 

* Personal computer(pc):-  

                                              It is a single user computer having moderately powerful microprocessor.

 

* Work Station:-

                                       It is also a single user computer system which is similar to personal computer but have more powerful microprocessor.

* Mini Computer:-

                                           It is a multi-user computer system which is capable of supporting hundreds of users simultaneously.

* Main Frame computer:-

                                                                It is a multi-user computer system which is capable of supporting hundreds of user simultaneously. software technology is different from mini computer.

*Super Computer:-

                                              It is an extremely fast computer which can execute hundreds of millions of instructions per second.
